We all know and love the classic table games, like blackjack and Caribbean stud, but what about the other numerous table games listed at online casinos, or hidden away on the casino floor?
We’re all put off by the unknown and most people don’t want to gamble twice: the actual bet and then risking that bet on a game we don’t fully understand. So what opportunity does that give us to learn and possibly profit from games such as Oasis Poker, 3 Card Poker, Red Dog, Casino Hold’em and so on. Well, there’s hope online, with many good casinos providing information on each of the game, but, more importantly, offer players the chance to play for free. That way, at no risk, players can learn a new game and see if it’s really for them.
I think most blackjack or Caribbean stud players will quickly appreciate the quality of Oasis Poker, if they just gave it a bit of time. With very player friendly odds, enough depth to keep someone who likes a little bit of a challenge and an element skill in their casino games more than entertained and in pocket. Much like Caribbean stud, the game is based on the poker hands system, whereby the strongest hand has the greatest chance of beating the dealer. Also, there are extra payouts for hitting the strongest types of hands, like a flush, straight or four of a kind, maxing out a monumental 100:1 for a Royal Flush. Also, the dealer must qualify for you to lose, unless you fold before the showdown, much increasing your odds.
If you’re a poker fan, and especially of Texas Hold’em, then moving to the Casino Hold’em tables will feel very natural to you. Much like Oasis Poker, this game has a very friendly casino margin and mean hours of entertainment from a moderate budget – plus with the side bet it’s possible to win significant amounts of money, again reaching 100:1 for the Royal Flush. You’ll receive your pocket cards – two private cards – and you will have to decide whether to continue by “calling” – a bet equal to the original “ante” bet. The flop will come and the combination of your pocket cards and the five community cards will determine whether you have 1. Beaten the dealer or 2. Your hand is strong enough to win additional cash.
3 Card Poker is one my favourites. It’s simple, quick and there’s a lot of potential for big wins. Like the other games mentioned above it’s based on poker and, as the name suggests, there are only three cards per hand. The player makes the ante bet and the cards are dealt. The only choice a player needs to make is whether to fold or call. There are no community cards, so you know the strength of your hand immediately. The deal must qualify with a queen or higher to win, so there’s a lot of potential to win even with a rotten hand. Playing the game like this gives it a great margin, and like the others, is lasting entertainment. However, for the really big wins players will need to play the side bet known at the PairPlus or PairUp. This bet will payout as long as you have a pair or better. It affects the margin but lends the game a real edge, with returns as big as 100:1.
You can read more about Red Dog but, trust me, it’s another great little table game that can become a great addition to your gambling entertainment.
