Cash back or deposit bonus?

Often the only casino bonus most players have heard of is either the deposit bonus, a percentage amount and a maximum ceiling amount in bonus money, and free chips – the Holy Grail of bonuses. Few are offered or enquire about a cash back offer, but is this something you should be interested in?

Like all bonuses, cash back results in more chips in your account and duly extends your time at the casino. That means an increased chance of hitting that jackpot or hitting a lucky streak, so of course it’s worth taking up if offered. However, we rarely see such bonuses advertised on sites. In fact, even cash back Wednesday style promotions have dried up.  Why?

The main reason cash back isn’t offered more regularly is simply because of its negative connotations, whereby the whole principle is based on losses. The fact it is offered in advance of play smacks of defeatism – who wants to preconceive losing before actually laying down chips? With that in mind, it’s offered to only the most realistic of players that know one day you can win – and win big – and on others you don’t. It’s the very nature of gambling and in many cases the cash back is accepted as a preferred choice of the professional gambler. Again, you ask why?

Simply because they tend to be more generous; the casino has more time to assize the player and, of course, they’re giving back money/chips which are already in the bank, unlike a deposit bonus. There’s nothing stopping a player opening an account, depositing and winning a fortune on the bonus provided by the casino, like the 20,000 EUR won by a player in a single spin at Jackpot Games casino the other month. Cash back taps into money already made by the casino and they're more likely to give more of it back. Yes, the associated risks for the casino are there, i.e. a big win off the back of it, but that too is the essence of the casino industry.

So, in short, don’t be afraid to ask for cash back bonuses. Most casinos will be more than happy to offer a percentage figure back from your lost deposit and will be more than likely to offer you much more than they would of in a deposit bonus prior to playing. Furthermore, if you then go onto lose the cash back, the casino may even chuck in a few free chips and/or a deposit bonus – a good casino will recognize bad runs of luck when they happen and be happy to sort you out with a few bucks. After all, the casino wants you to come back and have a good experience, with lots of wins, thrills and lasting entertainment.
