The Return Of The Tiger

After his controversial break from the Golfing World, Tiger Woods has confirmed his return at the Masters which begins on the 8th April 2010.

The history so far as we know it, after a string of affairs outside his marriage, these sordid details being exposed by the press, the loss of sponsors, the all but complete break down of his marriage and then his decision to withdraw from golf to sort his personal life out. Tiger Woods has now acknowledged his mistakes and publicly apologized for his behaviour, he is also attending therapy with the support of his wife.

Therefore, I suppose the next step is the return of the great man. I believe, the break will not really affect his game that much - as when he was out with the knee injury, he came back as strong as ever.

The question is and what will be interesting going forward is the reception he gets from the crowd, his reaction to this and the affect this will have on his game. Following on from that, is sponsorship interest and the whether brands will view him as a face still worth having.

With regards to sponsorship, many of Tiger's sponsors have stood by him (like Nike, Tag Heuer, Giliette). On the other hand, some big names have relinquished their ties with him like AT&T, Gatorade and Accenture.

My gut feeling is that Tiger Woods will bounce back, and everyone will be back on his gravy train soon enough. The reason is, like other successful sportsmen and women, his golf has always been consistently of the highest quality - and we all know it is from this, his success has been built and will continue to last!!

I see Tiger is concerned about his reception at the Masters - as I thought.....

I have a strong feeling that the crowd will be good to him!
