Boxing Business Booming in Big Fight Build-Up

With the eagerly awaited heavyweight clash between Daye Haye and Wladimir Klitscko only a few days away and already generating massive interest, Coral bookmakers are confidently predicting that the record turnover for a boxing contest will be beaten.

The previous best was for the Ricky Hatton versus Floyd Mayweather Jr bout in December 2009 when turnover was £10m.

"We are excited by the business we have already taken, and if it continues as it has turnover will comfortably exceed £10m!" said Coral spokesman Gary Burton.

The early money on the outright outcome was for Haye, cut to 5-4 (from 6-4), but the recent cash has been for the favourite, at a best price of 8-13 with Coral.

Haye has been the most popular in the round betting, having been trimmed in price to win in rounds 6 and 7 (20-1 from 25-1) and round 8 (25-1 from 33-1).
