Keno
Keno is an easy game and is usually enjoyed by the casual and fun-seeking gambler due to the excitement of trying to land a huge payout from a minimal investment.
How to Play
In the most common form of the game, one or more people are playing against the house. What the player must do is pick a set of numbers usually 1-20 that they think will be drawn from a range of numbers 1-80 numbers.
There are many versions and ways of presenting keno to the user online; the game can be a virtual representation of a printed ticket or just a display of all 80 numbers for you to select, you mark the ticket to your liking by simply clicking on the numbers. Playing online also means keno games can be played rapidly with little gaps between games. At the end of the drawing, the number of matched numbers determines whether or not you're a winner. The more numbers that match, the more you win!
How Much Can I win?
Payouts do vary between casinos, so do check the payout before starting. Here is an example of a typical payout scheme.
If the player picks five numbers, then he or she usually would have to hit or catch three numbers to be able to claim any cash. If the player does hit three, the odds are paid back to the player at 3 to 1 (normally). If the player was to match four of those five numbers, he or she would be paid back at odds close to 26 to 1. If the player was to match all five, he or she would be paid close to 330 to 1.
This is why keno is so popular, because £1 could get payout £330 instantly. If a player picks more than 5 numbers, say they pick 10, they will have to match more numbers before they get a payout, but if they match all 10 that's some serious money!
Different Types of Keno
Another option for keno players is the choice of combination or way tickets. A way ticket allows the player to group different numbers, where each group has the same number of numbers, to create more than one way to win.
Take for example a 3-3-3 way ticket, this refers to a ticket where the player can select a combination of three 3-number groups. To do this the player simply marks his or her ticket in three groups of three numbers. This is usually done online by marking the first group of three numbers with A's, marking three more with B's and three more with C's. What does this mean? It means hitting any 3 out of 3 will pay as though the player had a single 3-number win (i.e. the player just choosing three numbers on a single ticket).
The purpose of all of these confusing ticket variations is to make it easier, and more exciting, for players to wager more money on more numbers. Please note, playing these way or combination tickets offers no advantage to the player, it just allows them to play more tickets in a single drawing of numbers.
