Forecast:

A Forecast is a bet where one predicts the first and second in a horse or greyhound race result.

Straight Forecast (SFC or Exacta):

This bet made up of 2 selections in one race finishing 1st and 2nd in the order named. The Straight Forecast dividend is declared based on the Starting Prices (SPs) of all the horses in the race.The Forecast dividend shown at the end of a race is to a stake of 1.

Reverse Forecast (RFC):

A Reverse Forecast is made up of 2 selections in one race finishing 1st and 2nd in either order. As a result there are 2 bets here i.e. two Straight Forecasts.

Straight Forecast Double:

A Straight Forecast Double is done in the same as ordinary doubles. The only difference is that one has two selections per race. In order for this bet to be successful, both Forecasts must be winners.

Straight Forecast Treble:

A Straight Forecast Treble is done in exactly the same way as ordinary trebles. The only difference is that one selects two selections per race. All three forecast predictions must be successful for there to be any return.

Reversed Forecast Doubles:

Reversed Forecast Doubles consist of 4 individual doubles. The number of RFC Doubles is calculated by multiplying the number of doubles in the total number of races by 4.

Reversed Forecast Trebles:

consist of 8 individual trebles. The number of RFC trebles is generated by multiplying the number of trebles in the total number of races by 8.

Combination Forecasts (CFC):

Combination Forecasts involve 3 or more selections in a race, with any two selections to finish 1st and 2nd in any order. To calculate the number of bets in a CFC is No. of Selections x Preceding number.

Combination Forecast Doubles & Trebles:

Combination Forecast (CFC) Doubles & Trebles increase one’s chances of getting a winning Forecast Double or Forecast Treble because one chooses more than 2 selections per race. To win one must have included the first two finishers in 2 races for doubles, or 3 races for trebles. Please note, that in all cases the number of races always determines the number of doubles and trebles.

 

Tricasts:

Tricast betting is, in the main, offered in handicap races of 8 or more runners.

Straight Tricasts (Trifecta):

A Straight Tricast is made up of three selections in a race finishing first, second and third in the order named. Please note, it is one bet; and the selections must finish in the order that one specifies, in order for it to be a winning bet.

Combination Tricasts (CTC):

A Combination Tricast is made up of three selections in a race finishing first, second and third in any order.
To calculate the number of bets in a  Combination Tricast, one can use the following formula – No. of Selections x (No. of Selections – 1) x (No. of Selections – 2)
